The Foundation Make Up Course really helped fill in gaps for me. I had been studying media make up, in Somerset, not knowing what industry I wanted to go into. When i realised it was Fashion, I was recommended the course by a friend.
The course went through, in detail, everything I needed to know about applying beautiful fashion make up, from skincare to applying false lashes. Along with learning make-up techniques, I was also informed about the industry - which i think helped me a great deal, as that was the part I was struggling with the most. Dani was amazing and her experience in the industry makes her a great teacher. I loved every minute i was there. Since leaving the school, I have experienced so much, 3 months after leaving, I was assisting a top make up artist backstage at London fashion week.
I have since gone on to assist more make up artists on campaigns, shoots, videos and body painting; for amazing brands such as Glamour, Lipsy, Kisstv, Agent Provocatuerand Tatler. As well as assisting, I am now doing my own jobs and working as a make up artist full time. I have recently been taken on by a few agencies in the West Midlands and I'm also key Make Up Artist for Illamsquain Birmingham.

"After attending The Session School in 2008, I went on to leave my job in Asset Management to follow my passion for make-up full time. I set up my own website www.shomya.com and have since worked on various fashion shows with fantastic designers; such as the internationally recognised Couture Designer, Yemi Osunkoya of Kosibah, music videos, photoshoots and weddings! The notable fashion shows include Young Africa Fashion Week (June 2009), which saw my work being published in the Sept 2009 issue of PRIDE magazine. Learning from Dani gave me the confidence that I needed to boost my career. It also refined my technique... and practise, as they say, goes a long way!"
