Professional Foundation Make Up Courses

We offer Foundation Make Up Courses suitable for complete beginners or those already working in the industry wishing to further their skills.

Our courses cover all that is needed to develop a professional understanding of make up artistry. These courses are intensive, extremely in-depth and cover all aspects of make up; from the very basic to the more creative. Although there is a lot to cover on our 11 day courses, the teaching is virtually one-to-one, due to the very small and intimate classes of no more than 10 pupils per course.

Personally we feel this allows the students more time for hands on practice, experience and more specialised teaching. From time to time we will have visiting make up artists from various areas of the industry. They will come to give informal demonstrations and lectures to the students, as we feel it is important to offer our students a wide range of make up styles to learn from.

Our courses offered only run on 11 Saturdays (for 11 weeks) or during weekdays (for 11 consecutive days). All our courses run from 10am to 6pm. The final day will include a professional photoshoot which students will take part in to obtain their first photos of their make up work.

It is important for us to offer courses on Saturdays as well as weekdays so that anyone may attend, whether in full time work or already a student elsewhere.

Hygiene, skincare routines, eyebrow shaping, tools of the trade
Foundation and application – different textures
Concealer and powder application
Highlighting and contouring the face to shape it
Blusher/bronzer applications and techniques and textures
Smokey eyes modern/classic - including; eyeliners and false eyelashes
Lip colours application, textures, lipliner, glosses
A natural / bridal look
Avant Garde / Catwalk looks
Colour, bodypaints, metallics, cream eyeshadows
Mineral makeup
Male grooming

Final photoshoot with a professional photographer.
A disc with the photos from the photoshoot of your work will be given to each student at the end of the course along with a certificate and a list of contacts within the industry. By attending the course you will have made your first steps into the world of professional makeup artistry. You will have a very extensive knowledge of professional makeup techniques and the confidence to apply these skills within the industry.
