Combined Hair & Make Up Course

Length: 20 Days / 4 Weeks

Our unique Combined Hair & Make Up Course incorporates our Professional Make Up Course, our Foundation Hair Course and our How To Create...In 5 Days course syllabi to provide you with unprecedented intensive training. 

This 4 week course (weekday only) is suitable for beginners with little or no experience.  The Combined Hair and Make Up Course will arm you with every skill and technique necessary to start work as a professional hair and make up artist for the Fashion, Beauty, Media, Celebrity and Advertising industries, as well as providing excellent professional training for weddings and other special occasions and events.

The final day of the course (usually on a Saturday) is an exciting photoshoot with a professional photographer and model.  Students are invited to create final images (provided on a CD), that can be used in their very first professional portfolio.  Portfolios are extremely important as future clients (photographers, magazine editors etc.) will select you for work on the strength of your portfolio.

Make Up

The make up section of our combined course covers all the essential elements needed to achieve the highest standard of professional make up artistry.

The make up course covers:

• Hygiene, skincare routines, eyebrow shaping, tools of the trade
• Foundation and application - different textures
• Concealer and powder application
• Highlighting and contouring the face to shape it
• Blusher applications and techniques and textures
• Eye makeup natural and smokey - including, eyeliners and false lashes
• Lip colours application, textures, lipliner, glosses
• A natural look
• A smokey / strong look
• Colour, bodypaints, metallics, cream eyeshadows
• Mineral makeup

Hair

The hair section of the course is split into two segments. The first covers all the essential elements needed to achieve the highest standard of professional hairstyling.

The first segment of the Hair section covers:

• Introduction & Basic Hygiene
• Structure & Anatomy of Hair
• Handling of WET hair & the correct tools to use
• Straight Hair Blow Dry
• Curls - natural & styled Ponytails
• Hair Up
• Plaits & Braids
• Buns & Rolls
• Blow Dry
• Hair Extensions
• Avant-garde
• Editorial Looks
• A Professional Photoshoot

The second segment of the hair section builds on the basic elements already learnt, to develop and push the students abilities and skills set to an editorially professional level.

The second segment of the hair section covers:

• Curling techniques,
• Tonging,
• Settings for using heat,
• Texture-extreme texture,
• French pleats,
• Rolls and quiffs,
• Braids and plaits,
• Ponytail with pieces.
